VISUAL INSPIRATION & MOODBOARDING
Themes included:
Dunkin’s existing pink and orange palette
Playful repetition and pattern
Circular shapes inspired by donuts, cups, and motion controls
A balance of energy and softness - bright, but not chaotic
TYPOGRAPHY & COLOR
Typeface choices closely reference Dunkin’s existing typographic voice for brand consistency
Bold, friendly letterforms paired with repetition and scale shifts
Brand-forward pinks and oranges balanced with white space to avoid visual overload
SKETCHES & LAYOUT IDEATION
Initial sketches explored:
An illustrated woman/man on the packaging - both the box and cup - taking a pause. (Seen above). After A/B testing, I found that this confused customers, so I chose to omit her.
Emphasizing the word pause without contradicting speed
Using familiar UI language (play, pause, pickup) as a visual metaphor
Letting food photography act as both texture and focal point
